The Seasonal List – Summer ’21

THE SEASONAL LIST

A quarterly digest on the upcoming season, what’s in my thoughts lately, any seasonal bucket list items, what I’m currently inspired by, and a few curated pieces on my shopping list.

SUMMER '21

The season of carefree days spent outside, long balmy nights watching the sunset and then dining al fresco under the stars and running around in just a few easy breezy pieces is here. I can’t describe it better than feeling the smell of freedom in the air. Especially this rather secluded past year makes it so much more special to imagine a summer filled with quality time spent with family and friends, making bonfires after golden hour, packing up the car and hitting the road and taking lots of little day trips and escapes to the lake or sea.

It will be the summer of gathering and just enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Watermelon, Van Morrison playing softly in the background, sand between you toes, laughing with friends around a messy table with the remainder of a delicious fresh dinner, ice cold rosé, salty hair and skin, warm long days spent outside without certain plans, adventuring. We all need a storybook summer without any pressure, just embracing the pleasures of life and building memories. A summer to remember, with magic in the air and the freedom to think it will be endless. The freedom to think we can do anything.

For my part I hope that this will be the summer of finally making my dream come true of living in Charleston for three months. A true humid Lowcountry Southern summer! I’m waiting to hear the news of the borders being opened every day and am ready to embark on my very own adventure. It will be a summer of saying yes and experiencing as much as possible. I can’t wait to live this summer to the fullest!
