One of my personal highlights of being in the USA was to shop pieces I couldn’t easily get my hands on from Germany, at least without paying huge shipping and customs costs. One of those brands was Julia Engel’s brand Gal Meets Glam. I always admired her style and her dress creations that feature my favorite feminine touch that I can’t always find here in Europe. On my way to Florida she announced the smaller retailers that would have her collection from now on and I was so so excited to see that one of them was The Grove in Winter Park, right where I was going (can you believe my luck?).
The Grove was actually my dream store based right in the cute center of Winter Park. If you travel to Orlando this is a must stop. They have a wonderful mix of dresses and niche clothing brands, as well as homeware and accessories. The Gal Meets Glam dresses where right in the shop window and even though I could have bought everything I just picked one very special piece to bring home – the Elisabetta dress. If you try this dress on the feminine waisted cut with the lovely draping just speaks to you and make you feel so ladylike and put together. This timeless dress will actually be in style my whole life and the quality is amazing. I know for sure that this is just the first Gal Meets Glam dress in my collection and can’t wait for our next USA trip to Charleston in May now! I have my eyes especially on this one, this one and this one, but there will be new ones out there at that time that I can’t wait for according to the sneak peaks.

For the trip I brought two new accessories pictured here that I basically wore all the time. The most practical and “perfect with everything” straw bucket bag and those adorable white pearl mules. I’m so happy I got these two pieces in February already since I’m sure I will wear them all Spring and Summer long.
